Wood & Salt
Traditional & Contemporary Swedish ceramics from selected wood- & coal-fired kilns; 18 swedish ceramists working in as many different kilns from various parts of the country – each with their individual expression both in shape, colour-palette and surface texture. Their work spans a broad spectrum of the ceramic field ranging from traditional classic saltglazed vessels from coal-fired kilns built in the 17th century, over work strongly influenced by the asian cultures and ceramic tradition fired in Japanese tunnel-kilns (anagama-kilns/technique) to sculptural and non-figurative work fired utilizing more unconventional methods.
