This trio pumpkin set has helped pay my bills for two years now. In this video I show you how to create each item, including tips on distressing the wood, and making your project stand out amongst the competition.

Pricing breakdown:

To build one set, you need two 2×4’s (5.96), a dowel (.99) and a stick (free), Spray paint (4.88). Totaling $6.95 however we only used 3″ of the dowel, have half a 2×4 left over, and each spray can lasts 7-8 pumpkins. The trio set sells for $72 each, with a take-home profit of $60.17. At the beginning I said this project pays for MY setup to build it: If you add up the Miter Saw (519), Router (99.99 battery with free tool being the router), Sander (59), Sand paper (10.98), Drill (59), Drill bit (4.12), and Three Clamps (13.47) your total is 765.56.

These pumpkins sell for $72.00 a set. or (Small $22) (Medium $24) (Large $26). In four hours you can build 12 sets; eighteen 2×4’s (53.64), two dowels (1.98), glue (5), Spray paint (29.98). $89.90 total cost to build. 12x$72= $864.00 minus our overhead equals $8.64 in your pocket AND YOU HAVE A BUNCH OF NICE TOOLS NOW.

Profit = $855.46 – $89.90 – $756.56 = *$8.64 (plus you have tools)*

Yes, it does take time to list them, or attend a craft show. That amount of time is different for everybody, take it into account. Electricity and Gas to the store and other factors also apply to over head costs. You are no longer a hobbyist DIY woodworker if you feel the need to add those numbers to your total. I didnt keep track of those numbers until the state required me to file as a business.
