The process spanned over 53 days and 480+ hours of intensive craftsmanship. Each board of Black Limba was carefully chosen for its grain and character, then laminated into a monumental block from which the skull was sculpted.<br \/>\nThe form was meticulously shaped, sanded, and finished to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. It rests atop a custom slab of Quartzite, supported by a handcrafted Mid-Century Modern base\u2014also made from Black Limba\u2014designed and built by Fine furniture maker Alex Reynaud.<br \/>\nIntegrated beneath the lower jaw is a subtle acrylic panel embedded with LED lighting, powered by battery and controlled via remote, adding a dramatic underglow to the piece.<br \/>\nWeighing over 300 pounds and measuring 46\u201d long, 30\u201d wide, and 65\u201d tall with the pedestal, this sculpture is not only a feat of woodworking but a bold piece of modern art.
